Re: So Cal Dyno of Ridgeline intakes...

i'd love to see the pics of your custom intake

but i think just to top yours off, you should add a heat shield to maximize the cold air...

ever thought of a thermo-tec heat shield for the intake tubing?

FYI, this is like a $45 accessory

i'll post up pictures when i get back from catalina.

i have thought about using something like that, but it would take away from the beauty of the powdercoat.

He wouldn't need it if he's already powder coated the intake. Powder coating has a fairly high durability and heat resistance when compared to just polished aluminum (*useless trivia alert* aluminum has a 237 thermal conductivity rating, which isn't as good as silver, copper or gold, in that order; however, powder coating raises that thermal conductivity rating significantly, equating to much better heat dissipation).

I'm certainly interested in seeing the progress.

Actually, that's not entirely true. My Si sedan/Si coupe has/had a factory inlet that acts as a cold-air intake.

Re: So Cal Dyno of Ridgeline intakes...

well in the case of my own ideas of a custom intake, i was thinking of using a silicone induction hose...samco makes a great one. mini coopers and evos generally utilize these, but are beginning to be seen in hondas and acuras.

for example...

the only thing is that i would still want to utilize the stock airbox, or something similar to it.

take a look at the comptech intake for a 01-03 acura TL

lengthen the tubing a bit, and looks like it could fit a ridgeline. i'm sure the comptech intake for the ridgeline will look practically identical to it.

and if i was able to utilize silicone induction hoses w/ the stock aribox, i would try to get an AEM dry filter that would fit within the airbox. but let's see the pics of your finished product streetwerkz!
