Re: JET ECU upgrade initial drive

no sorry I had an appointment but I have to take another car in this friday so I'm going to wait until then.

In other news I got 420 miles on 20 gallons yesterday depite climbing through the moutains above santa barbara and 15 little misgivings concerning acceleration. I probably could have gotten 460 without those or better

Re: JET ECU upgrade initial drive

Did you do a dyno run before the ECU change?

Re: JET ECU upgrade initial drive

Alexander, I was curious if they reprogrammed the WFO shift points or not?
Thanks
Roy

Re: JET ECU upgrade initial drive

Your dyno results are completely useless without a before & after comparison.
Another issue you may want to consider is Church's dynapack is known to read higher then your average dynojet.

bler bler bler bler bler

4 ridgelines besides mine all made almost dead on 204 awhp on his dyno

so do the math 204 out of 255 = 51hp lost to the driveline that percentage factored in with the new numbers 300hp

FYI I'm not making a comparison between dynos there tools for measuring some people use pounds some people kilo's but the math still works

Without a stock, stock vs intake, stock vs intake + exhaust, stock vs intake + exhaust + ecu flash... You really have no idea what mod has done what for you.

How much R&D did jet really put into this reflash ?
I wounder if they did anything besides add some ignition timing ?
If you look at the a/f logs from your dyno runs you were logging a/f ratios that look very close to what a factory RL would run.

I am not trying to hate on JET, but if hondata has not released a re-flash what makes you think JET has put the r&d into the RL ?

Here's a possible reason: Hondata doesn't offer V6 tuning. (I think they custom tuned the Baja RL) Does that mean all Honda's V6s are 'tuned' to the limit from the factory? Of course not. Why don't they offer V6 tuning? You'd have to ask them. B,D,F, and K series are what they market.

OTOH, JET tunes just about everything. IMO, I don't think they are the best tuners out there. They may have just jacked the timing a bit as you say. But right now they are the only game in town.

20% parasitic HP loss is typical for an automatic transmission and from these numbers very good for an AWD automatic.
