CA10015. I have it memorized. I saw about 7 stores with an empty slot on their shelves for it.

"CA" sounds like an acronym for "cabin air" but that's what was in the catalog. Maybe it stands for "cold air" or, more appropriately, "can't acquire"

Here is what Dyson said in his report: "This analysis shows a 3.5 (engine) still breaking in. Fuel dilute and wear in particles raised the levels above what we want but not unexpected for this Honda. Change air filter. I like Fram in this application, OEM seems to be too efficient and restrictive. Do not allow more than 10,000 miles on air filter".

I guess it has something to do with fuel dilution, even though my analysis showed only 0.5% fuel. The report went on to say, "These engines break in slowly and the fuel dilution is part of that. The air filter is very suspect. Change it if you have not already done so". The flash point was shown as 370 and was depleted some by the dilution. The target range is 400+. Dyson also said that my mileage should increase as ring seal increases and by using an air filter that is less restrictive than the Honda OEM.

So, although I don't know the science behind all this I have taken his advise and change the air filter with something other than OEM every 10,000 miles. The analysis was from oil taken at the 12,500 mile interval and I now have 20,000 miles on the truck. I changed the air filter right after I received the report and again the other day when it hit 20,000 miles. So far, so good.

The air filter from Fram has two numbers on it - one I assume is the one you are looking for: X61151 and CA10015. The second air filter I purchased was not a
Fram and was bought from autopartswearhouse.com; it is the FULL Air Filter ($15.99). This store has lots of RL parts and filters, including the cabin filter and many different oil filters that fit our truck.

Thanks for the Fram filter numbers.

Re: Where do you get an Air Filter?

Shortspark - thanks. Not sure I understand it either. I replaced my air filter recently with a Honda part - at 35,000 miles. Probably too long but it was not filthy.

Re: Where do you get an Air Filter?

I get all my air filters at rockauto.com. Someone on this sight posted. They list at least three different makers at all price levels. Since I change often and am cheap, I got the least expensive.

It means I have experienced no problems and yes, I'm seeing better gas mileage by one to two miles per gallon but part of that might also be from an engine that is further broken in. I am also confident changing the filter as recommended by Dyson will reduce the fuel dilution even further. I plan on another analysis at the next drain (around 27,000 miles).

Re: Where do you get an Air Filter?

I will only buy genuine Honda filters. I get them either online or at the dealership. In my opinion K & N filters are overpriced crap.

Re: Where do you get an Air Filter?

I used a Napa which is noticably less dense than the stock filter. Mileage went up. My original filter was still pretty clean after 12,000 miles so I suppose the less restrictive filter is not that big a deal.
