02 sensor bypasses with intake/exhaust upgrades

I have heard everyone saying that the performance and mpg gained by upgrading the intake will be short lived b/c the honda cpu will correct it. What do you guys think about these sensor bypasses to keep the computer from being able to recover the original air/fuel mixture settings etc. Could this be a way to keep the performance increases with a new air flow system?

Re: 02 sensor bypasses with intake/exhaust upgrades

Seems to me that even if it were do-able, you'd cause your engine to pollute more.

I hope you don't pursue this unless you can verify that the emissions are unaffected.
