Best option for after-market air filter replacement

I've got an 06 RTL that needs to have the stock air filter replaced. What do you guys recommend?

Thanks in advance!
Mike

I recommend an OEM replacement filter from your dealer.

I second the motion. Go get an OEM Honda filter. They engineered and built the vehicle and they know what it needs.

Okay, I'm surprised that OEM is the preferred choice over after-market. It's pretty convincing when everybody is saying the same thing.

Where's the best place to get an OEM (best price)?

Where's the best place to buy a Ridgeline (best price)? Kind of a silly question if you think about it.

Car parts are a commodity and pricing varies daily. One place may have a good price one day and another guy the next.

I use www.bernardiparts.com. They're in my state so shipping is cheap and overnight.

Clean or replace your own cabin filter, improve air flow & save a bundle
this tread has lots of hints on cabin filter and places to by both filters just a great one if you have not read it.

Re: Best option for after-market air filter replacement

I replaced my original air filter with one from K&N. I believe them to be far superior than stock. They filter better, breathe better, and last forever! You may even pick up a few extra horsepower; not as much as an intake swap, but still an improvement. You will also need the K&N recharge kit. You spray on a cleaner, hose it off, let it dry, and spray it with their recharge oil, and re-install. It's about twice the cost of a paper filter; which is a bargain in my book. Any time you can increase performance (safely) AND save money, I'm in! They say they're good for one million miles.

I have the oposite view on K&N. They do flow a little better, but do not filter better and the oil in the filter can make it's way to flow meters and such and cause problems with them. I had one in a new 2004 Ford F150 I had and there was no detectable increase in power and close monitoring of fuel mileage showed no zero nadda increase in MPG. It's OEM for me. On a side note they will not last forever........

K&N filter better? Not in this life!

Few extra horsepower? Show me the evidence.

Terrible thing to do to an engine.
