Re: Jet Performance Chip

Have not heard of it and would be very skeptical... I didn’t know there were RL's available during 1996-2004...

Re: Jet Performance Chip

I am always skeptical when " Led Read Outs " are a hi-light for the unit...in other words....Look, I got this neet blinky lights thing under my dash... Hey, they sell the Tornado Air Management system too...

Time Travel may be possible if you couple these two devices together.

Please don't flame me, just that at my age I have seen everything and anything fly by night automotive tech. companies come out with and put a new name to some old stuff I saw 20 years ago.

I believe they were referring to Acura RL's 1996-2004. Calling a Ridgeline an RL sometimes confuses the hell out of me as I have 2 Acuras or should that be Acuri?

Re: Jet Performance Chip

A friend recently told me about what he called "chipping" his truck. He remapped his computer chip. From what I've been able to find out, on some makes you can just reprogram the chip, and others you have to buy a preprogramed chip. It is supposed to add approximately 7% to 10% more hourse power and 2-4 mpg better gas milage. I haven't found anyone who has had it done to a Ridgeline. I'm trading my Tahoe in on an RTL next week, and I would like to hear from someone who has done this to a Ridgeline.

More horsepower and better gas mileage are pretty much at odds with each other. With all the resources in engine design that Honda has, don't you think they would have programmed it that way in the first place if it were possible?

No

even on 91 octane they are still running afr ratios of 10.8:1 at some points which is rediculously inneficient. even with intake exhaust and reflash I still see barely 11.8:1 while a vehicle of this engine configuration should easily see 12.8 to 13.5:1 thats like a free 25% gain either in hp or mpg.

If there was heavy load such as towing in high heats ect it could retard timing and increse fuel flow the fuel injectors and big enough and the knock sensor good enough to do this.

The JET reflash made a noticeable increase more than the intake or exhaust put together
