Stock Exhaust

Can someone tell me the specs of the stock pipe coming out the cat to the first muffler? I was considering cutting it and putting an aftermarket muffler running out the side of the truck behind the rear door. Is the pipe 2in, 2.25in or 2.5in? thanks~!

Damn......... I'm in the middle of moving and have the stock exhaust in storage. Guess where in the storage unit? Way in the back. It was the first thing I put away. Anyway, I remember it being mentioned before that the piping changed sizes the further down it went. Sorry I'm not much help, but others will have the info.

Re: Stock Exhaust

I saw that and considered it, but I want to run the flowmaster 60 series muffler which I think would give it a more tonned town sound inside the truck. Also sorry but I think 300 is a little much, no offense. Also I have friends with welders so it shouldn't be too hard to weld something up nice.

Re: Stock Exhaust

Hey just wanted to give a follow up to those who are interested. The stock pipe size out of the cat is 2 1/8". A 2 1/4 pipe sides right over it. I just installed the flowmaster 60 series and it sounds really nice. It gives the truck a nice tone similar to the Nissan 350z Infinity 35, which is what I was after. The the cab resonance is all but a slight rumble that goes away at around 3000rpms. I def notice the diff in performance, I'll keep you posted to any gas savings.

Bumping this oldie with a question for you..

I did the same thing (FM60 as well) to my Armada, but I just wanted to ask was it a 2 1/4" single in offset or center, with a single outlet offset or center?

Im lifting my buddies Ridge on Sunday, and was looking to suprise him with an exhaust that day when he shows up.

Thanks in advance.

I used the 2 1/4" single center. Welded two rods after the muffler for hangers, ran about 6" 2.5" pipe coming out of the muffler to a 90 out the side of the truck. I didn't use any hanger for the tail section.

Re: Stock Exhaust

So a center IN and center OUT in 2 1/4".

Have any pics of it from under the truck?
