Re: Bought an AEM Air Induction System

Can't be because I just replaced the facotry Honda air filter about 1-2 months ago with a brand new one. So the new Honda replacement one only has about 1K miles on it.

Re: Bought an AEM Air Induction System

From AEM's home page:

Q: Will an AEM intake void my new car warranty?
A: NO. The only time this can happen is from improper installation that causes damage to a vehicle system. If a service technician denies your warranty claim ONLY because the car is modified with an AEM intake system and the vehicle system failure was not a direct result of the installation and use of an AEM intake, please refer him to the Magnusson Moss Warranty act. You can download the Magnusson Moss Warranty act from SEMA’s website.

Wow... that is real comfort!

Lets see.... how does this run through my Skeptic Filter (pardon the pun):

Ok... it WILL NOT void your warranty.

BUT... IF IT DOES... AND you didn't make a mistake at installation (in which case its YOUR fault) hand the dealer a copy of the Magnusson Moss Warranty Act... and cross your fingers... or hire a lawyer.. pay the lawyer... and cross your fingers.

Or... you could leave it stock keeping your resale value higher betting on Honda engineers... rather that some company that can't prove HP gain or MPG gain. Or anecdotal comments from someone you don't know.

Call me a skeptic.

Not like Honda is going to warranty anything anyway.

Well... not if you go through four feet of water...and then don't have the smarts to clear the intake system...and the cylinders of water before you attempt to crank it.

Nice exaggeration.

I would bet every dollar that I have to my name that my problem would not have happened with any aftermarket intake.

As to your smarts...I'm being unfair... I admit. This is the kind of mistake anyone can make... once.
