Re: What is your engine oil?

After the 3rd oil change I switched to Mobil 1. No mileage gain. Switched to Ford's blended synth because the Ford dealer is 20 miles closer than the rest and it gets good reviews.

Re: What is your engine oil?

I've used Mobil 1 0w-20 since her first oil change @ 3500 miles, now turning 18k with the setup. Doesn't lose a drop and changes color like everyone discusses here. I change at 5k intervals and Engine warms up more quicker w/ this oil.

Re: What is your engine oil?

Not sure how long it takes you to drive to this Ford joint, but I can change my oil myself in about 5 minutes, and I don't even need to jack the truck up.

By myself doing it, I don't have to worry about the high school kid stripping the bolt or jacking anything else up.

Question Re: What is your engine oil?

Has anyone used or is anyone familiar with the WALMART brand of Synthetic oils?
I stopped in yesterday to price ($24.97) the Mobile 1 that I normally use and noticed that they had a 5qt container of 5w-20 for $14.88..
I't would be a more economical chioce if it's made by one of the better big oil companies.
Anyone??

Re: What is your engine oil?

I wouldn't use wal-mart oil in my lawn mower.

Not saying it's bad oil...It's just that I don't know. Wal-mart doesn't sell much of anything that is a top quality product that I know of. I like the store but I don't trust them for high quality items.

Re: What is your engine oil?

They sell an excellent home-branded oil filter that's better and cheaper than any other name brand filter they carry.

Do you know who actually manufactures the filter? How about the Oil?

Re: What is your engine oil?

I have used Castrol Syntex 5w-30W since 4,000 miles and have over 34,000 now. I use MM to tell me when to take it to Honda for service. I provide my own oil and they provide the filter.
