Can you get this stuff at the auto store or does it come only from Honda?
M-77 is the only thing I'll use on OE brake pad's and shims, I have no clue how it does what it does but it's magic I swear. Never seen another product like it.

The good news is that when you order the pads (which you won't be doing for over 100k or so Im guessing anyways now) make sure you get the front or rear pad kit, this will include the shims, pads, and more than enough M-77 to get the job done.

I just did the rear pads on my truck and gained another packet of the stuff, so if you end up needing some, I'll gladly send you a spare.

62k and 40k here (2 Ridges, the 40k one gets alot more city driving) and I only had to do the rears because one of the calipers froze and wasn't caught by the resident mechanic (also the author).

The 60k+ RTL looks about the same as the first time I rotated the tires...I could probably sell it and say they were just put on

As well as the brakes appear to be wearing, I think I'm going to go with the Honda OEM pads whenever the time comes. Glad to hear the OEM pads come with a packet of the Molykote.

Re: New brake pads...trying to decide

I read it somewhere, cant remember where, but that Ridgelines already come with high quality cermic pads. Can anyone confirm? For my needs, the brakes have been outstanding and the relatively small amount of dust produced has been similar to other ceramic pads that Ive used.

I think I've read somewhere on the board that the OEM pads were ceramic. I think all the ones I've researched at Auto-zone, Advance Auto and NAPA have all been noted or listed as ceramic pads.

I can tell you this on the 06 RL if they were ceramic the brake dust was terrible. Now that I changed them to Car Quest's Ceramic Pads I don't see any dust. Good luck picking out a good pad

I haven't had any issues with dust with the OEM pads. They are actually one of the better sets of OEM pads I have come across. I'll put the OEM's back on when these finally wear out.

I agree, hardly any brake dust... You want to talk brake dust, look at fords, dodges and BMW's... Some of the worst I have seen...

Re: New brake pads...trying to decide

I agree my Explorer was bad. I changed them to ceramic and it cleared the problem up. If anyone is interested the Car Quest stock number is NRSMAXX GCD1102 and GCD1103 Good luck. It works for me.

Re: New brake pads...trying to decide

Well, here's some pics of my brakes at 45k miles. They appear to be wearing well. Some have mentioned that the rears on some Hondas have worn faster than the fronts, but that doesn't appear to be the case for me. Based on this, how far do you think these brakes will take me?
