Re: Hondata Reflash - Gauging interest, looking for test vehicle in Torrance, CA

There is a tremendous amount of pessimism here about a company that tuned the Baja ridgeline and made incredible gains on the supercharged comptech project.

If a perfect air fuel ratio is 14.7:1 and it's believed 14.1:1 on a dyna pack is considered perfect than at least a 13:1 air fuel ratio should be possible

Now put that up against a stock ridgeline that in some places is 9.5:1 and you could using regular pump 91 octane without pushing it make coniderable gains in fuel economy and therefore power - there are the same thing.

Air makes power, gas in the catalyst so reducing the amount of gas or increasing the amount of air will produce both these results.

I already get 25mpg on the highway and I still got a nice bump in power and looking at the AFR it's still only 11.5:1 with JET reflash which is on the in case you think of using 64 octane cheapco gas in the middle of summer towing 6 tons up the grapevine with the AC on.

Re: Hondata Reflash - Gauging interest, looking for test vehicle in Torrance, CA

Put me on the list of those interested in seeing what this reflash can do. After the performance testing I did with intake/exhaust last year I came to the conclusion that there really wasnt much to be gained without tuning. My experience with modern fuel injected performance cars has led me to the opposite conclusions of what many here are saying. Most of the modern factory cars are far from optomized, and there are plenty of gains to be had with tuning. What is available from the ridgeline powertrain? I dont know but I am surely not willing to discount it without proper testing.

I would be interested in a reflash or even a program I can self tune. I have the experience and tools.

Put me down for it too...but wait, please figure in a K&N drop in filter in to my tune. I know it's a drastic change from the stock system, and will probably be the ultimate demise of my beloved Ridgeline (and my SI). So I'm sure you will have to make a seperate tune for it because it's so earth shattering

Re: Hondata Reflash - Gauging interest, looking for test vehicle in Torrance, CA

I feel compelled to toss the challenge back to the OP on this...I sent an email as he instructed with no response. I will recognize upfront that he also suggested a phone call, which I haven't made.

If email wasn't really a viable option for communication it shouldn't have been listed. If this was something that was to be acted on, more information (especially from the person who was to be performing the work) would be helpful.

This posting is sent to guage the interest of the OP in getting the people at Hondata to engage with those on this forum who have expressed a willingness to participate.

Damn, that'd be what I'd shoot for with forced induction, seems like there's a lot of room to lean it out at WOT to make more power. Any idea of what kind of timing they're running at full load?
