i just leased the honda ridgeline today, signing the papers and putting the money down tomorrow and picking it up.
i think i got a good deal (i better have my dad knows the GM and the Finance director there)
i got:

*brush guards
*back-up sensors
*remote start
($730.60 down including 1st months payment, $430.60 a month and there cutting and programming the Acura TL flip key for my ridgeline for free)

Re: i dont understand the vtec engine

Read your owners manual. Right now. Then do a search here for topics that interest you. Please don't start a new thread for every question you have.

The VTEC system uses hydraulics to engage a second intake valve at higher RPM's. Your salesdroid was thinking about VCM, or variable cylinder management, such as is used on the Pilot.

Re: i dont understand the vtec engine

VTEC does not cause a second valve to actuate. VTEC instead engages an additional rocker arm on a different cam lobe that increases the lift of the intake valves. The second rocker arm also has different timing and duration.

A very good video on youtube shows how it works.

For the OP - your salesman is wrong, as sales people often are. He not only was wrong about the Ridgeline, he has the number of cylinders wrong on Honda's VCM technology. The new Accord has a 6-4-3 system while the old Pilot and Odyssey have a 6-3 system.
