Re: did anyone see this????

Interesting.

I wonder if the V8 with cylinder management will be capable of providing better fuel economy than the current configuration V6.

I have to admit though, if I were to consider a V8 Ridge, I would also have to give serious consideration to going back to a full size V8 pickup.

The diesel option may prove to be worth looking at.

Re: did anyone see this????

Hybrid not bad but there would be no discounts, you can buy alot of gas for $5,000 and then there would be the matter of battery replacement.

I am not sure how hybrids perform in the Rocky Mountains.
Coke just got a few hybrid deisel Coke 12 bay delivery trucks and they are not allowed to go in the mountains because the battery kicks in under 30 mph. Not good.

Later, Brad

Re: did anyone see this????

The V-8 unless they make some major breakthrough will probably be a worthless endeavor. If they haven't noticed V-8 SUVs and trucks are piling up on used car lots. I think the diesel and hybrid are interesting options. I might look at trading for the 2009 Hybrid if it makes enough of a difference in mileage.

The V-8 is in the 4.2- to 4.4-liter range, with VTEC and cylinder shutoff
But there V8 would be like the one in the new tahoe, it would only run 4 cyl and 8 when needed.. Gas mileage would probably be better than what we see currently on our V6's

Wow what a great idea?
