Re: There seems to be some oil misinformation on this forum

Csimo, I agree with everything you are saying about synthetic's i have used them in my cars since they first came out, and I'm sad to say that my 91 mazda 626 with 302,000.00 miles on it has literally fallen apart around the motor and transmission she needs allot of front end work steering rack more money to fix than the cars worth and I owe it all to mobil 1 since 1500 miles I couldnt ask for anything more out of that oil or the car

Re: There seems to be some oil misinformation on this forum

the manual says a special tool is required to get the Honda filter off the first time. Is this true? The girl at the dealer said no special tool is required. Can someone clear this up? I just don't want to take it to my mechanic and then find we can't get the filter off when it's on the lift.

Also is there anything special that needs to be done about the TPMS when rotating the tires, or is it just the same as rotating the tires on a vehicle without the TPMS system?

Thanks

No special tool needed to change the oil filter the first, or any other time unless you consider an oil filter wrench a "special tool". Maybe that's what Honda means?

Nothing special needed to rotate the tires. The TPMS sensors are not wheel dependant. The only time you need to worry about the TPMS sensors if is you break the wheel / tire down... then you need to be very careful.

Csimo, you mention the best value oil filter being Wall Mart variety. Wha tfilter would you put on this truck if money was no object? Thanks.

Re: There seems to be some oil misinformation on this forum

If it was me and money wasn't any issue, I'd use either a Mobil 1 filter or a K&N. (K&N's airfilter stinks but they make a great oil filter).

Re: There seems to be some oil misinformation on this forum

The absolute best oil filter? That would be hard to say, but probably the Purolator Pure One filter would be my choice. Second choice would probably be the 15400-PLM-A01 filter.
