Re: Fumoto engine oil drain valve...

Is it better to put the adapter on first and then screw in the valve or put it in place pre-assembled?

I put my adapter on first but I don't think it matters.

Hi Guys,
could someone point me to where I can pick up one of these values? Thanks.

www.fumotousa.com

For the Ridgeline, you need the F106N drain valve and the related adapter, part # ADL-106.

Contact them to verify this information before ordering; however, these are the part numbers I received today after ordering the valve for my Ridgeline.

Re: Fumoto engine oil drain valve...

Hi,

I just installed the Fumoto valve yesterday, but I had some issues with it and was wondering if anyone else had the same problem. I got the F106N and ADP 106 adapter but the valve hit the oil pan and I was not able to tighten it completely. I ended up having to space the valve out further by using 2 metal crush washers between the oil pan and the adapter and a crush washer between the adapter and the fumoto valve itself.

Haven't checked today but it was leak free yesterday.... Does anyone think using 2 washers is going to cause a problem?

Thanks!

Re: Fumoto engine oil drain valve...

Just curious why people are ordering the F-106N instead of the regular F-106? Is the nipple really needed on the Ridgeline?

Just wondering because the Fumoto site only calls for the F-106.

I've had mine for quite a while, so my recollection may be a bit fuzzy.

The nipple on the F-106N allows for attaching a short piece of tubing so you can "aim" the oil as it is draining.
The picture that comes to mind is trying to teach your son the fine art of stand-up toiletry. You can take the no-hands approach, but it's generally less messy to take things into your own hand and assist gravity by taking aim.
