The nipple on the F-106N allows for attaching a short piece of tubing so you can "aim" the oil as it is draining.
The picture that comes to mind is trying to teach your son the fine art of stand-up toiletry. You can take the no-hands approach, but it's generally less messy to take things into your own hand and assist gravity by taking aim.
That makes sense... but it isn't needed, only the ADL-106 adapter is required, correct?

Thanks.

Re: Fumoto engine oil drain valve...

I use the nipple one both on the Ridgeline and my fiances' 2007 Sonata. The hose can be attached long enough to fit right into the bucket or pan. There is no easier way to take oil samples for analysis or to change the oil completely.

Re: Fumoto engine oil drain valve...

Does anyone know the size(mm) of the RL factory drain plug?
I run these(Fumoto) on all our trucks, and have a bunch of extras in a box but they are all baged by mm size not part number. I have a bunch of 18mm and 22mm without the nipple.

Just want to see if I already have on that will fit, that way I could just order the adapter.

Thanks,

UP N MTNS

The valve itself is integral to the F-106N (with nipple) or F-106 (without nipple) part. The ADL-106 is an adapter that screws into the oil pan drain plug hole, then either the F-106N or F-106 screws into the ADL-106 adapter.

So you need to buy one of two complete sets:
1. F-106N valve AND ADL-106 for a complete setup with a nipple
2. F-106 valve AND ADL-106 for a complete setup without a nipple

So you don't need to buy the valve with the nipple (but will have serious problems hitting the drain pan without a big mess), but you need to choose one of the valves. You DO need to buy the ADL-106 adapter in either case.

According to the size chart on their site, the F-106 is a 14mm-1.5
