Re: Enough about the gas mileage already!

I'll echo the thoughts on driving habits make a HUGE difference in mpg. I bought my RL after owning a G35 for several years. I got 16-18 mpg in the G35, and was getting 16-17.8 in the same type of driving with the RL.

Recently I've begun to drive my RL like I drive my old Jeep wrangler. I've begun to not be the fastest off the line at green, drive in the right lane at 65 and actually coast to red lights as much as possible. (All things drivers of hybrids do while watching the idiot-meter)

These combined with shifting at the lowest rpm and not using the VTEC range has (surprise) markedly increased my mpg. If I drive hard I can easily get 16 mpg with my ridgeline in my mixed daily driving, but can also get 19 if I keep my foot out of it.

My Tahoe is going to get 13.8 avg no matter what I do, on the highway maybe 15. F150 I had would get 13.8-14.5. Overall, I'm happy with 20% + better mpg.

Are you implying there is nothing new to discuss about gas mileage? That's grounds for a new thread.

Re: Enough about the gas mileage already!

Gas mileage?? Well, I dunno. Should I expect 35 mpg if I bought a Ridgeline? Hmmm....would I expect Paris Hilton to be a virgin??

I bought the truck. I looked at the window sticker. If you expect more than the window sticker, go look for Paris Hilton to ride with you. And ask her how she feels about gas.

Re: Enough about the gas mileage already!

Gas milage is an issue.

I replaced a 1987 truck and 1995 suv with my Ridgeline and the Ridgeline gets better milage than both of what I replaced and does the job of an SUV and truck better than what I had.

I just got 23.2 mpg on a 1,000 mile trip and my old Chevy Blazer got 21 mpg on a similar trip. So I am happy because my old Chevy Blazer could not haul 4 by 8 sheets of anything!!

If I got Paris Hilton in my 'Ridge, the only thing I would be thinking about is breaking in the back seat.......now that's the simple life.....
