Re: Transmission?

I'm glad the VW tranmission isn't in the Ridgeline. I prefer not to replace my tranmission at each oil change

All kidding aside, I do wonder that maybe the torque curve is broad enough on this engine that an additional gear wouldn't be that important?

I would rather see a transfer case.

Just my 2 cents.

Re: Transmission?

This was the biggest factor that led me to the Tacoma, the 6sp trans. I opted for the Ridgeline mainly because it was significantly larger and got the same mileage. I do wish it had a slick 6sp trans option. I would have jumped on that.

Re: Transmission?

No one loves a manual trans more than me, but I'm very happy with the automatic in the Ridgeline. It shifts great and always seem to be where I want it to be gear wise. It pretty much stays where there's good torque available for any acceleration I want. Nice job Honda.

Re: Transmission?

I agree, this is the nicest automatic trans I've owned. It's even better than the one in our 2003 pilot. I have no complaints.
