Transmission fluid level

Hi All,

Only owned my RL for 2 weeks now but today I was giving it a good cleaning and checking fluids. The transmission level was showing about 1/8" below the bottom mark. According to the manual, it should be between the two marks. My question is I already have a service appointment next Thursday, should it be okay to keep driving it until that appointment?

Thanks
Mike

Re: Transmission fluid level

I think it all depends on how many miles you are going to put on your truck between now and your appt. Unless you plan on towing anything or driving more than a couple hundred miles, I think you'll be OK. If you have to tow something, or have to take, say, a 350 mile trip, I would stop by the dealership and have them top it off.

Re: Transmission fluid level

FYI the Ridge is a little different when checking ATF than traditional methods. You don't check while the engine is running. Run the engine up to normal operating temp then turn off engine and check level within in 90 seconds.
