[not mentioned on the bottle]
I washed my truck (with the wash in a can) before I did the LCB so there was no water. I dampened the applicator first that put on a healthy amount of LCB for the first section. I figured that the LCB is liquid already so what the heck.

With a light rinse, I did not get all of the residue off, so I did a heavy rinse/spray after that. I then "Absorber" dried it, then went on to the paste wax. I could not see doing a wash as the paint was a clean as it could be and adding wash soap didn't seem logical.

Re: Turtle Wax Ice line Product Review

Cool beans, bro'!

I guess doing the LCB thing during a light drizzle isn't entirely out of the question, then, so barring any storms like we just experienced here (trees down all over and some major puddles), I should be able to try it on Sunday. (I just found out I'm working Saturday. )

thanks again.

Re: Turtle Wax Ice line Product Review

Hey! Thanks for the reviews.

I went to Advance and they had the ICE paste. Since my RL is only 1 week old (to me anyway), I wanted to get a coat of wax on it. The paste goes on pretty easy: wet applicator, gently wipe across the paste, wipe on (rub some water spots), and repeat (about 2000 times). By the time you get around the truck, you start taking it off. I kept 2 micro-terri cloths, one to remove excess; one to buff. Here's my take on the paste.

It goes on SUPER easy. It comes off pretty easy. It takes some work to buff it to a glass-like shine and BOY! does it shine.

I ended up going through about 6 micro-terri cloths. I noticed that as I worked through the buffing, the cloth used to take off the excess seemed to lose its effectiveness so I just rotated the buffing to the excess removal duty and added a new fresh cloth as the buffer. It took about 1.5 hours to do the whole thing and it was B-E-A-UTIFUL. MAN! That Dark Cherry Pearl is 20-feet deep now. I think I'm goin' swimmin'

You are welcome.

Two things:
I think you used too much wax. This is not like traditional waxes where you have to really get it on thick to work well. If you can see it on there, even faintly, you have enough on there. If you feel the need to put on a second coat, fair enough, but using too much makes removal difficult

If you don't wax the whole truck then go to wipe off the wax, it'll come off 100x easier. Wax a section, let it haze up then wipe off. I just saved you enough energy to lift that beverage to your mouth.

If we're talking about the same thing, this was in a screw-top can: not the squirt stuff. Maybe I did use too much, but it's pretty easy to figure when you need to swipe the can again. You can tell when it's on by the friction and when it needs a new swipe in the can. Likewise, I got the feeling about taking it off; thus, changing the cloths.

BTW, by doing it this way, I got the drive to raise up several of those beverages;-}

Re: Turtle Wax Ice line Product Review

Well, after buying the ICE wash, liquid clay bar and paste wax, I finally got around to washing and waxing.

I've got to say that it really puts a terrific shine on it! It looked great after the clay bar, but the wax was the icing on the cake!

It's been awhile since I have waxed my RL so it took me a little longer. I also started early in the morning but it didn't take long before the monsoon clouds rolled in. I had to finish the job inside the garage.

I must say I am also very impressed with the way the wax works well on plastics (running boards, splash guards, etc).

I know after this I won't be using anything else. I also have the detailer and will use that in a week or so.

Of course, it rained right after waxing the truck, and I had an appointment. It beaded up the water very nicely and no rain spots!

The pictures don't do it justice and I tried to do before/after pics, but like I said, mother nature interrupted my plans.

Re: Turtle Wax Ice line Product Review

I went to get another bottle of the ICE touch up spray and notice that the
ICE Liquid Polish was sold out at Walmart. The salesperson told me that they cannot keep it on the shelf. It is really worth the $16.99.

Detailer spray is new [i]to me[i]. I'm way 'old school'. So the question is, when and for what purpose is the spray used?

I use it for:
the day after a wash to put a final "clean" (remove light dust, etc.) before a meet or some special event. It puts an extra shine on when you need it most.

Thanks. Ok, I couldn't just say 'thanks' 'cause I needed 10 characters to post and 'thanks' only has 7 including the period! I think this covers it.
