Thumbs up Re: R/L Washed, Clayed, and Iced

Wow!

That's a beautiful thing!

Was the "clay bar" you mentioned, the TW liquid clay bar, or another?

Can anyone tell me if I should stay away from the plastic (black bed caps, etc...) while using the liquid clay bar? I have it in my arsenal, but I've yet to use it... waiting on some road construction to ease-up, first.

Man! Those darker colored paints REALLY pay you back for all the work!

Pug, the Turtle Wax Liquid Clay Bar makes no mention of staying away from the black plastic or rubber parts.

Just finished detailing black beauty. Used all Duragloss products that were recommended by a co worker who used to detail on the side. 10 hrs total. Glad it's over with but man is she looking pretty.

Re: R/L Washed, Clayed, and Iced

I did mine over the weekend. Ice products did ok. The suface seem not be a smooth as when I used mauquires. Time will tell. The bed cover looks real good. Hope it stands up to the uv ray's.

the dodad above it is my EZpass for the turnpike. I am told that the duragloss should last close to a year so we will see. I use a spray wax to keep it up after washings.

Please help me out. Am I the only person that never heard of clayed? If you don't mind, what is this? Thanks

Clayed refers to using an actual automotive clay bar on your paint to remove surface imperfections and contaminants prior to applying a wax or sealant. Ice has a Liquid "Clay Bar" supposedly to make the process easier.
Don't feel bad, prior to joining this forum I had never heard of it either.
