Re: debris between the seat and console

Nole1972 & ScottIN,
Thanks for the tip. I went out to sears yesterday and picked up the micro-kit. It definitely looks like it will do the trick.

Re: debris between the seat and console

I vacuum it out from underneath, it seems to have enough space to fit the narrow vacuum nozzle. I dropped a 1976 bicentennial dollor down the side between the center console and the drivers seat. It rolled underneath and went under the carpet at the front seat pillar. It finally rattled itself back to the pillar and I was able to fenagle it out with my fingers, it was not easy.

Ditto here. I also thought it a problem, until I looked under the seat (from the front). With a vacuum & crevice tool, no problem.........

Re: debris between the seat and console

Quick related story... yes that area between the console and seat can be a nightmare... especially on the drivers side of Ridgeline with navigation.

The navigation unit is mounted under the drivers seat. The unit prevents you from accessing the "crack" from under the seat. This is where my problem began.

I was leaving a Best Buy store. Got in the Ridgeline and started to put the key in the ignition. The key literally jumped out of my hand and I tried to catch it. I tipped it up into the air and in what appeard to be a slow motion reply I saw the key tumble end over end and drop perfectly into no-mans land between the drivers seat and console.

I tried reaching it from all angles but the key eluded my attempts. I think the key was actually enjoying my frustration. I dug to see what I may have available to get at that key... nothing.

So off I go back into the Best Buy store leaving my unlocked truck behind. I stood at the customer service desk with my tail between my legs wondering how I was going to explain this to the 16 year old who asked if she could help me. I asked for a coat hanger... she looked at me as if I was from Mars... or worse.

I ended up at the Geek Squad counter and borrowed a long screwdriver in exchange for them keeping my drivers license. Yes, that was my true goal... to steal a screwdriver from the Geek Squad at Best Buy!

Anyway, I got the key out, and returned the screwdriver. In retrospect I suppose I didn't learn anything since I still don't have anything in the truck that would help me in the event of another similar mishap.

Re: debris between the seat and console

I've dropped papers, pens and other items down the impossible crack multiple times. I've considered stuffing the top of it with a foam tube or something to prevent things from going down there, but haven't done it yet. I generally have something long and thin that I can slide down to help me retrieve things.

I've been able to clean with the crevice tool by sliding seats forward and back, but that's a big pain too. I wish the crack was wide enough to slide my fingers into or shielded to prevent things from falling into the black hole.
