Re: Clayed the Ridgeline today

Nice job Tom... I can almost see the shine up here on the North Shore!!
I see your taking advantage of the somewhat warm temps that moved in. I'm hoping I get mine done next week before I head up to the Mt Washington valley for a getaway next weekend.

Re: Clayed the Ridgeline today

A tip when using clay. First wash your car... then put a sandwich baggie (the extra thin ones) on your hand like a glove. Now lightly rub over your paint. Most of the time it will feel like the baggie is getting pulled off your hand by stuff in the paint. After the clay job do the same test again, smooth as glass and ready for the polish & sealant.

Sweet looking ride! Love how it shines! Nothing like a Ridgeline all gussied up.

Re: Clayed the Ridgeline today

Thanks Tom

FYI, I used Mothers Waxes Paint Saving System kit includes: California Gold Clay Bar System; Includes 80 gram Clay Bar, 16 oz. Showtime Instant Detailer, 4 oz. Original Formula Carnauba Cleaner Wax. On sale from checkers around $15.00 and couple hours later.. My Ridge looks good as new off the showroom floor.

Re: Clayed the Ridgeline today

After reading this thread I decided to give it a try on my wifes 06 Subaru legacy. It seems like after this last winter every time I wash it, it just didn't get clean. So I tried this "claying" stuff I read about and WOW what a difference. It took a good amount of time, and then a nice wax job, but at the end it was a new car. The car's paint job has a metallic flake in it that usually you have to look really close to see. Now it stands out. I even had a stranger tell me how great the paint job looks today while i was getting gas. I highly recommend this to anyone with a little time on their hands and a couple bucks.

Re: Clayed the Ridgeline today

I see the mention of the Mother's California Gold Clay product in this forum...but what is everyone else using? Has anyone here used the Turtle Ice Liquid Clay or is everyone using an actual clay bar? Thanks for any input.
