A great polish for black Ridgelines/vehicles

Hi All,
As some of you may remember from previous posts of mine, my clear coat had a hazy/cloudy appearance which turned out to be micro scratches. Anyway, after letting a local detailer (with a darn good reputation) look at my RL, he showed me what he uses for black vehicles. He rubbed a little of it on a small section of my RL, and you could immediately see the diference. It is made by Car Brite and is called 'Black Pearl'. Car Brite makes an entire line of products for black vehicles, but the only one I have tried is the premium polish #4. The hazy/cloudy look is gone and the stuff is relatively easy to work with. I had the detailer order a bottle for me through his distributor, but outside of that, I think the only way to get it is online. When I Googled 'Car Brite Black Pearl' the other day, I found at least one site that offered it. After using it and topping off the RL with a coat of Meguiar's NXT 2.0, it looks really sharp. If I can ever get it washed in the next couple of days, I will send pictures.

Re: A great polish for black Ridgelines/vehicles

Jim, congrats on finding a polish that works well for you. I also have a Formal Black RL, and nothing shines like the black (when it's clean!). I always find it interesting to see the polish/wax people recommend. Ask for an opinon, and you get a hunnerd different answers. I just clayed and waxed my Formal Black RL this week, and I couldn't ask for a better shine. After the claying, I used Black Magic Wet Shine. Worked out great. If you like the shine, use it. My personal opinion is that most any wax/polish works well, just use SOMETHING. If you take care of the paint, it will shine. Congrats to your for finding the one that makes your black RL shine! You can't go wrong if it shines!

Re: A great polish for black Ridgelines/vehicles

A tip for the black RLīs. This has worked great in mine. Whenever I get a chip or a scratch on my black ridgeline, either as a temporary solution while you take it to the paintshop or as a permanent touch up, y use spray Duplicolor Bright Black and spary Duplicolor Clear Coat for touch up instead of the regular touch up pen. just a little spray of duplicolor, let dry, a little tiny spray of clear coat, let dry, polish and almost invisible. Duplicolor's black matches perfectly the Honda black. I donīt suffer any more when leaving my truck exposed to some idiot scratching it or bumping it with the supermarket cart.
