Directions for a real shine

Here's what I do: Indulge yourself with one margarita. Wash truck.Have one more margarita.Wash truck again. After the second wash I use an electric leaf blower to remove excess water from every nook and cranny.Apply one more margarita to the gullet area. I then use clay with a spray detailer over the entire surface including all windows inside and out. Have one more margurrglerita. I then wax it with Turtlewax ICE.You can put ICE on your bumper pads, bed rails, etc. and there is no white residue to wipe off.Have one more margarglerita for extended stamina.Give up and take a nap. After a rather lengthy siesta, wipe truck with polishing cloth designed for automobiles.Don't use a towel from the bathroom to polish. Instead, wet one with cold water and wrap it around your throbbing head. Just a few tidbits of useless information from Ol' Unka Jim.

Yo Jim! It’s great to hear from you man. I just learned a little about “clay” I thought it was reserved for older cars and trucks but I guess I’ll need to try this stuff sooner than I thought. By the way is that Margarita a Cadillac?

Yeah, buddy!

Replace margarita with martini and I'm with ya!

The clay is pretty incredible - a friend introduced me to that. Pretty amazing - comes out smooth as glass.

Clay Magic is one brand. There are only a few actual manufacturers out there, so a lot of the brands are just 'rebrands'. Having tried a number of different ones, CM is still my favorite. Don't mess with the lube they give you though- mix up a cap full of car wash soap in a spray bottle with water and you'll get a much better glide on the clay.

Re: Directions for a real shine

Over the weekend, it was pretty nice here, and I went over my RL with a polish, then used the Klasse sealant, and then put a coat of caruba wax over the sealant. Turned out really nice. Talk about a slick surface....your eyes even slide off it if you even try to look at my RL!

I have heard good things about the clay and I will be doing that the next time I do a really good detail.
