      The plastic clip (front retainer clamp) on each side attaches to a bolt (steel coach bolt) that slides along a slotted track in the actual cover (in the 6" section closest to the cab) rather than attaching to the side brackets. Thus, when removing the cover the clips just have to be loosened and then they are slid toward the center of the cover. The cover and the clips can then be removed as one unit. I have my cover removed, sitting on the garage floor, with the clips still attached to the cover. Will be re-installing tomorrow when I get my RL back from the body/paint shop.

      Thanks for the explanation. Anything that makes our tonneaus have fewer separate bits and baubles to lose is a good thing!

      Thanks for the explanation.
      With the MX4 after panel removal the metal brackets stays with the rails on the Ridgeline. Another piece of metal sticking out that is not present with UF. It is out of the way in the corner but on a windy day wonder if my tent may be blown back there resulting in ripped tent.
