  1. Is anyone financing through Honda?

    Second Generation Ridgeline (2G 2017+)
Shop for money before you shop for the vehicle. That way you know going in what you can afford, and what interest rate options you have. Last time I bought new, I told the finance guy "I got 2.4% from the credit union. If you can beat it, I'll go with you." They couldn't beat it. Chip H.
  2. Almost bought an F150, but just couldn't

    Other Cars, Trucks and Bikes
A coworker has a Platinum F-150, and the interior space is amazing. Favorite feature: 360-degree camera view Least favorite features: Door panels are pretty low-rent for a $65k+ truck. Hard to park because of the sheer size of it. Chip H.
  3. Headlight switch problem

    1G Problems & Issues
Here's the replacement part: Honda Automotive Parts 35260-SJC-A01ZA SWITCH ASSY., LIGHTING *NH526L* SATIN SILVER It's in the $50-70 price range. Replacing it isn't too hard. If I recall correctly, you lower the steering wheel (tilt all the way down) then starting at the bottom left of the...
  4. Warning about tire pressure!

    Second Generation Ridgeline (2G 2017+)
Checking tire pressure is always a good idea when taking possession of a new vehicle. Nearly all of mine have been set to the sidewall max pressure by the PDI guy, and not to the sticker. Chip H.
  5. Gen 2 Body Shake After Complete Stop

    2G Problems, Fixes & TSB's
Could be the prop shaft adjusting to the suspension position change from the stop (it has a sliding pinion to allow for this). Chip H.
  6. honda website updated with RL

    Second Generation Ridgeline (2G 2017+)
Parts of the site are still overloaded. But I do like the "Chalet to Valet" comparisons. Chip H.
  7. Soft Side Truck Cap

    First Generation Ridgeline (1G 2006-2014)
Yes, that's a Softopper - I had one on my 2006. Pros: Easy to store when you aren't using it. You don't need a friend to help you remove it. Cons: If you have it removed temporarily removed, the frame gets left on the truck. Unless you drag out some tools (Torx bits, 10mm socket, etc) and...
  8. How to keep the touch screen clean?

    Second Generation Ridgeline (2G 2017+)
Or carry a micro-fiber cloth around with you. Chip H.
  9. Have you looked under the hood?

    Second Generation Ridgeline (2G 2017+)
That's not so bad, and is only marginally worse than on the Lexus. You should see the Chrysler Sebring - they have to remove a tire and the fender liner to get their battery out. Total PITA. Chip H.
  10. rant - i hate fox sports 1&2 - 24 hours of lemans coverage sucked

    Off Topic Section
Spoiler: Ford won. And Fox lost. I don't have cable and didn't watch it myself, but I've been hearing people scream about it all day. What a bunch of morons (Fox). Chip H.
  11. Turning diameter discrepancy update

    Second Generation Ridgeline (2G 2017+)
I was going to ask when one of the new owners would simply use a piece of chalk and find an empty parking lot to measure it in. Chip H.
  12. 06 Drivers Air Bag fails Passenger bag deploys ?

    First Generation Ridgeline (1G 2006-2014)
If they don't make you sign an NDA, please let us know what you find out. In the meantime, follow your doctors orders and get well. Chip H.
  13. Turning off the A/C

    Miscellaneous/General Honda Ridgeline Discussions
I don't recall ever hearing that recommendation from any car maker. The closest I can come is the recommendation to install a turbo-timer back in the 90's on turbocharged cars to idle the engine after arriving, so the turbo has time to cool and doesn't coke the oil. Chip H.
  14. Are we affected by the VerticalScope hack?

    Community Help
Thanks for the update. Starting to think about new passwords even now... Chip H.
  15. 2006 RTL 101K mile Fluid Change Plan

    First Generation Ridgeline (1G 2006-2014)
The MM has been pretty effective for a lot of people. Where you might want to change fluids more often is if you live in a very hot or very cold part of the country, or if you tow a lot. With regards to the transfer case, a lot of dealerships have been under the impression that the fluid is...
  16. Are we affected by the VerticalScope hack?

    Community Help
Looks like VerticalScope didn't follow current best practices in securing their user's info, and the data is out in the wild now (email address, password, etc). Is the ROC affected by this? Chip H.
  17. 0ver 65 front ends vibrates shimmys badly

    1G Problems & Issues
I think there's one or two Honda dealers supporting the ROC. If not, try Majestic Honda. So far as a how-to, Youtube is your friend. Try Eric The Car Guy, he works on a lot of Hondas. Chip H.
  18. U-joints in RL driveshaft are replaceable

1G Under The Hood / Performance
The Rockford part info was in a thread from about 3-4 years ago, and it kind of fell off the radar until now. IIRC, it was originally a four-wheeler part, and Rockford saw that a lot of Ridgeline owners were buying it, and relisted it for the RL Chip H.
  19. Concrete Block Drop comparison

    Second Generation Ridgeline (2G 2017+)
The scuff marks never really bothered me, but I can see how they might to some people. Changing the composition of the bed material was a good improvement. btw, thanks for updating the thread title, speedlever. Lots of comments on Youtube about "how the Silverado would do just as well if it...
  20. AUTOMOBILE MAG'S STYLING ANALYSIS of the Ridgeline

    Headlines
The front end could be more aggressive, but I understand why it is the way it is - pedestrian safety standards, and the need to share parts with the Pilot to save costs. Cadillac's design language is called "Art and Science". I think their best implementation of it was the XLR convertible, but...
