  1. Ipod problems?

2G Audio, Bluetooth, Electronics & Navigation
We had lots of problems using our iPod Classics with both our 2016 Accord Touring and Ridgeline. I bought a iPod touches for both vehicles and they work much, much more reliably, only needing to be unplugged and pugged back in every few months.
  2. Driving skills?

    Miscellaneous/General Honda Ridgeline Discussions
Pran, your experience reminds me of a similar situation I found myself in years ago. Our house is at the top of a hill about 40' higher than the road, our concrete driveway is probably 200' long, 'S' shaped and of varying incline. The driveway is lined with mature trees on either side. Back...
  3. Please sell the White Black Edition in the USA!

    Dear Honda: (Feedback Forum)
I used to be very OCD about my vehicles, as I get older I'm only 'well above average' when it comes to cleanliness. ;) I've owned many colors of cars over the years with black being the most difficult to keep clean to my standards and white being the easiest, that's why both our current...
  4. G1 style vs G2

    Second Generation Ridgeline (2G 2017+)
I loved my 2012 RTL (bought new) and had no intentions of selling it. Then I was at the dealership and they offered me $24k trade-in when it was 5-years-old, but the G2 was new at the time and they wouldn't negotiate down from sticker so I told them thanks, but no thanks. A year later I had the...
  5. Rear Door Modification to increase opening

    Second Generation Ridgeline (2G 2017+)
^ Take lots of photos of the 'old' and new parts! ^
  6. Aftermarket Wheels on G2 Picture Thread

    2G Photo Gallery
^ Wow! ^ I've looked at similar wheels on TireRack simulator and thought 'meh'. Love those rims (design and color) on your Ridgeline!
  7. Things you may not have noticed about your G2

    Second Generation Ridgeline (2G 2017+)
Photos of your setup and the jack in operation please, this could be a real time saver for those of us who rotate our tires ourselves.
  8. New owner

    Greetings & Introductions
Congrats on your 2019 Ridgeline, and so sorry you got rear ended. Glad everyone is o.k.
  9. What type of wax do you use?

    Washing / Waxing / Detailing
I've been using Meguiars Synthetic X-Press spray wax on our Ridgeline and Accord for over a year now and I love it! Wash and dry vehicle, spray X-Press on panel, wipe with microfiber towel, buff off with microfiber towel, done. It makes rubber and plastic trim look black and glossy (be sure...
  10. What have you done to your g2 today?

    2G Photo Gallery
B16 Service.... Changed the Oil (used NAPA filter the last time because I was out of Honda filters). Note to moderators, G2 maintenance sticky post has wrong socket size for oil change, it's 17mm not 14mm. Replaced Rear diff. fluid (first time doing this service, was super easy). Buy THREE...
  11. Cold Mornings - time for the heated steering wheel

    2G Interior
Seats yes, but steering wheel needs to be switched on every time the vehicle is restarted. Still, heated steering wheel is now a must-have for me. :)
  12. 2019 Sport Heated Seat Install

2G Accessories, Performance Parts & Modifications
    Ambitious add-on, well done!!!
  13. Did you get an Extended warrenty??

    Shoppin' and Test Drivin'
The 'value' of the warranty is different for different folks. I've never had one in the past, but I got the Hondacare warranty down to just over a grand and 2.99% financing for 48months on the truck, so it's cost is inconsequential to me. Your milage may vary. ;)
  14. Did you get an Extended warrenty??

    Shoppin' and Test Drivin'
We've owned several Accords and two Ridgelines and all of them have been trouble-free. But cars are a lot more complicated than they used to be and some repairs can get very expensive. We had a 2011 Volvo V70 (one of the last years for the in-line 6 and next to last year sold in USA). It was a...
  15. Spilled paint in bed - want it black again

    First Generation Ridgeline (1G 2006-2014)
That's gonna be tough to get out. I'd test some 'Oops paint remover' to see if it will help. https://www.sherwin-williams.com/homeowners/products/oops-multipurpose-remover-and-cleaner If that doesn't work you could try a furniture or paint stripper in an inconspicuous area, but it may harm...
  16. engine noise like a distant engine brake ; Intermittent highway only

    2G Problems, Fixes & TSB's
I think MtMan nailed it. I never noticed VCM operation on either our Accord or Ridgeline till after the 'new' wore off. After a couple of years and thousands of miles, the engines aren't as quiet at idle as when new (perfectly normal) and the VCM operation can now be detected, whereas it was...
  17. White Exhaust Smoke? Normal?

    2G Problems, Fixes & TSB's
I'd be inclined chalk it up to normal exhaust condensation since it's 65 degrees. Also it appears to dissipate quickly in the video. You could take it on the highway for a few miles to get the entire exhaust system warmed up and has a chance to dry up any internal condensation and I bet the...
  18. What is the most unusual thing you have had in the bed of your truck?

    Off Topic Section
I've also trapped and relocated several armadillos and raccoons who were damaging my lawn and bird feeders. I volunteer for a local no-kill cat shelter and I've transported about a dozen cats in pet carriers across town (30mph max) in the bed with the BakFlip cover closed 2/3 of the way. Had...
  19. Side molding removal?

2G Accessories, Performance Parts & Modifications
The 'Floss-Saw' method should work just fine, the molding is attached with strips of 3M foam adhesive. It may be easier to remove if you warm up the area in the sun, or in a garage with a heater, or very, very carefully with a heat gun. Lots of folks like the side molding, if you can remove it...
