Yep, you can read for hours on this topic on ROC.

But I'll tell you this, in case you don't know (& if your indie shop doesn't know)...... you are only pulling out maybe 40% of the fluid each time you drain the transmission.... the rest of the old stuff (contaminated stuff in your case) remains trapped in the tranny to be mixed with the new stuff when you refill. I think you get somewhere around 3 1/2 qts out when you drain, and the entire capacity is maybe 8 1/2 qts or so???

It will require at least 3 drain & fills to get most of the bad stuff out (I'd recommend 4 or 5 after a bad contamination). If they did a bladder type flush of some kind, then this wouldn't be required; but shops that can do that are few & far between. DO NOT let anyone do a "power flush" (pressurized) on your RL tranny. Bad juju. :(

Here's hoping you just need a few form D&Fs to get you running well again. :)
