I just returned from Ocracoke Island, NC on 9/23. We just slid into a small window between hurricane Jose and Maria. Arrived 3 days after Jose passes and left less than 24hrs. before mandatory evacuation for Maria. Driving in 8"-9" of sand was no problem with tire pressure deflated and in sand mode. I did however feel the sand hitting the chassis when in deeper sand. This is the perfect truck for the urban off roader. Just have to make sure and clean salt from undercarriage when returning to the asphalt jungle.

Completely agree with your review. The only limit is the ground clearance as the AWD system does a great job of keeping the truck connected and maintaining traction. I have not done beach sand but have had my 2 G1s and my G2 in some very nasty mud and have never got it stuck. It is also amazing on icy roads and always feels under control.
