Hi everyone,

i got a quick question about the lights in the bed. does anyone know where the switch is located in the back?

here is my problem:
I noticed that when i open the tailgate like a door the lights come on, and everything is fine, but when i open the tailgate down, the lights come on at first, but when the tailgate is all the way down, the lights turn off. if i put pressure on the tailgate the lights come back on again until i stop pushing.

i went to a dealer, and they said it would cost 180$ to fix, i somehow think thats a bunch of bs.

so basically do you guys know which switch it could be, or where i should begin to look??

Thanks in advance!!

Looking at the back of your truck the switch is on the bottom right hand side.
You can see it clearly with the gate open in the swing mode.
Sounds like you need a shim or two behind the switch. Shims should be less than $5 at the dealer or you could make your own if you're handy.

Paulee beat me to it.

Tailgate down - Bed Lights off = Normal

If your carrying a load with the tailgate down it would be annoying to have the bed lights on. They should be off when the tailgate is down, unless you hit the light switch on the dash console.
