Honda Manufacturing of Alabama is graciously, with the help of member csimo, extending an invitation to ROC members to tour the Ridgeline assembly line at the Lincoln Manufacturing Facility on Friday, June 4, 2010. As those of you who attended the 2008 National Combo meet and Maryville tour can attest, a Honda manufacturing plant is a fascinating operation. For 2009 and 2010 model owners, you'll see where your RL was assembled and came to life. The tour will be the highlight of a short meet.

The tentative itinerary is as follows:
- Thursday, June 3: Arrivals and greetings. The unofficial "official hotel" will be The Victoria hotel in Anniston, Alabama.
- Friday, June 4: Late arrivals, Breakfast. Social time with trucks. Light lunch and convoy to Honda plant. 1:00 p.m. Honda plant tour. Late afternoon Choccolocco Driving Tour or convoy through portion of Talladega National Forest. Dinner at restaurant to be determined.
- Saturay, June 5: Breakfast at restaurant to be determined. International Motorsports Hall of Fame and Museum plus bus tour of the Talladega Super Speedway (fee detailed below). Currently, the meet will close Friday afternoon. If enough interest is expressed, it could be extended into Saturday.

If you are interested in attending, please read the following details and respond to the poll. The last day to sign up for the plant tour will be May 19th, 2010.

The tour will be limited to 75 people.

Some details are still being finalized
We are being given a special opportunity to see the Ridgeline assembly area (Honda normally gives public tours of the plant on the Accord and Pilot lines). Because this is not their typical tour, Honda needs to gauge our response to finalize their plans. If you want to attend this event, please commit as soon as possible to aid sorting out some details.

Important details
Honda requests these safety and security items for the tour:
1.* No cameras or video recorders or any kind are allowed on the tour.* Visitors should leave these items in their vehicles.
2.* All tour participants must wear long pants, closed toe and closed heel shoes.* Shorts and open toe or open back shoes are not allowed in the plant.
3.* Any requests for special accommodations must be received at least ten business days prior to the scheduled tour.* Canes, crutches and walkers are not allowed on the tour.* Wheelchairs are permitted but not supplied.* All wheelchairs must be pushed from behind by an escort.
4.* A list of all participants must be received at least ten business days prior to the tentative tour date in order for the tour to be confirmed. *****(For ROC'ers, that means May 19th will be the last day to sign up for the plant tour).
5.* No handbags, backpacks, briefcases or packages are allowed on the tour.* These items should be left in the visitor's vehicle.* Honda Manufacturing of Alabama, LLC is not responsible for these items.
6.* Honda Manufacturing of Alabama, LLC (HMA) reserves the right to cancel or postpone tours as dictated by business needs.* If a scheduled tour must be cancelled, HMA will make every effort to notify concerned participants in advance.
7.* Honda Manufacturing of Alabama, LLC (HMA) reserves the right to refuse requests for tours based on business necessity.
8.* All tour participants must be at least 12 years old.
9.* The plant tour is about 1.25 miles long and lasts about 1 hour, 20 minutes.
10.* Cell phones must be turned off during the tour.

You should book your own accommodations either at the Victoria or at your preferred location. If we have enough response, we may qualify for a group rate at The Victoria. When responding, please post whether you plan to stay at the Victoria.

Talladega Super Speedway is an automobile race track and is located about five miles from the Honda plant. Entrance to the Motorsports Hall of Fame costs $10 for adults. A combined museum and Speedway bus tour ticket is $12 for adults, the bus tour of the Speedway alone costs $5.00 for adults. Visitors ages 7 to 17 are $5, $8, and $4 respectively. Children age 6 and under can enter for free.

We hope you can come and bring your Ridgeline. Please confirm as soon as possible to help with the final plans. Please come and be a part of this meet.

In planning this event, we knew it would be a difficult time for many to attend. But it was the best we could do. Hopefully we will have another opportunity in the future. Thanks Desmo and davedad.

I will be there - I am supposed to be working from Jackson, MS that week. Only 4 1/2 hour drive ( All Interstate 20 and Less than a tank of gas ). - That means I can work Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday - drive over and spend the night and take Thursday and Friday off.

Now to find out if the better half is going to come with me. I'll bet she does. Won't know until next week.

Sorry you can't make it, Dusty. We'll catch up with you and others at the next meet. Glad to have Fla-Vyk and larryr on board.

For new responders, if you'd like to bring along a spouse or significant other, please make that known in your post, or pm me.

Alright! Duncan's bringing Frances and OwnerCS is in. That's nine people in seven trucks. We're off to a quality start.

Wow, FLA-Vyk, 2 meets in less than a month!!! Unfortunately, we will not be able to make the Alabama tour this time around...and I was really hoping to make that tour.

We are still on schedule for the meet the following week. With our jobs we wouldn't be able to take those extra days at the beginning of June (schools are still in session). Hope to meet up with everyone the next time!!

Tentatively sign me up for the plant tour and ride on Thursday. I live about 15 miles down the road in Pell City and would like to check that out.
