I just purchased a used 2011 RTL (no Nav) and want to install bluetooth in next couple weeks. It look like it comes with a microphone installed near the rear visor.

Does the RTL come with factory installed microphone or is this just a place holder?

I have an 06 that has Nav\voice recognition and that is where the mic is located. Don't worry, you are not missing anything...voice recognition sux in the RL. should be called "voice listening and then giving wrong info" no recognition involved

I'm not certain that the mic is actually installed in a non-nav RTL or not. Nonetheless, you'll want to use the mic that comes with the Bluetooth unit anyways. It will be superior to what would be provided by Honda. Are you replacing the head unit as well or just doing an add-on Bluetooth unit? When I changed my head unit several years ago, I just routed the mic wiring behind the dash cover, up through the A-pillar cover and it attaches to the sun visor. It's out of the way and not very noticeable.
