2017 Ridgeline Keyless start system problem light and transmission clunk

I have a keyless system problem light that intermittently comes on. Never on the day I schedule service of course. Yesterday while driving I heard loud clunk and felt a jolt accelerating to aprox 25 mph. Once past that speed it didnt happen but all the way home any time I had to stop at a light and start again, same thing happened. Anyone have same issue. Vehicle has 113K miles and just ran out of extended warranty.

Welcome to the Ridgeline Owners Club, @CAM!

Sell it while it is still moving under its own power.

There's a warranty extension for the Keyless Start System Problem, but not for the transmission.

does it have value with the transmission acting up?
Carvana, Carmax, and Vroom often don't even drive the vehicles they buy - they hand you a check after looking at the odometer then load them up on a flatbed.

You can try replacing the pressure switch (2nd-3rd gear switch) on the transmission. I did that after the clunk in shifting appeared about a year ago, and haven't had any problems since. I believe the cost was around $65-70. Hope that helps...

I'm thinking you would want to avoid driving the RL until the switch is replaced. It's possible that repeated "clunking" is what trashes the transmission.

New trans from Honda garage will run you about 6g's. Good luck.

Maybe a little bit of a late reply, but the keyless system light on mine turned out to be the start button going bad - replaced and no problems with that since. There was a lady with an accord at the dealer same day as me with who had the same issue and fix. I think I paid around $250 at the dealer, but I didn't have time to research, test & fix it myself.
Also, there is a TSB on the 6-speed transmissions. Mine is a 2017 as well and was covered under the TSB. It includes a software update, draining / replacing the transmission fluid, and road test. No problems since then.
I can look up receipts later if this is still relevant to you.
You shouldn't have paid anything to have the start/stop button replaced since Honda extended the warranty on it to 9 years or 125,000 miles. If you did, you can request reimburse from Honda.
