That's a fully custom-built, definite-purpose vehicle that may wear sheet metal similar to the next-generation Ridgeline according to the author's opinion. This really doesn't have anything to do with the Ridgeline.

If that's the 3.5 then it's sitting in the engine comparment sideways (compared to how it sits in ours now). So it's totally different...Honda ran almost stock versions of the Ridge in the previous ones. The last Ridge to run the Baja, from what I saw had special exhausts, a few simple engine mods, upgraded suspension and tires and that's about it.

Very true, including a very over-sized air filter to catch all that desert sand.

... except for the 'maybe' Ridgeline body it 'might' be wearing.

IF they put a 2017 RL body 'simulation' on it, it will be our first glimpse of what they G2 Ridge might look like (other than spy pics & the Pilot of course).

'Could be interesting.... even if it's not the real thing.

... but sadly, my guess is they'll not do that.

So, just imagine, a full-on Baja dune buggy chassis with Honda's twin-turbo 3.5L and the latest greatest iVTM with full sand - control logic! I bet it would be quite competitive!

How many of you remember the Honda Odyssey (the go-cart, not the mini-van)? The 'Desert King' Pilot sounds like a beefed - up version of that.
