2017 with 140k miles not shifting into overdrive gears!!

So I've had the tranny judder issue in the past which was "fixed" with 3x DF... and recently, in the last maybe 20k or so miles, have had some hard shifting, so did another 3x DF which seemed to "fix" the issue.

Well, today, after about 220 miles of freeway driving, I pulled over to fuel up and get some snacks. Getting back onto the freeway I quickly realized that the truck would not shift into overdrive as it just sat at ~3000rpm at ~60mph and did not shift. No error messages on the display. So took the next exit, stopped, and restarted truck. Problem went away.

Dog decided she needed a potty break just 10 minutes after getting back on the road, so exited and shut down the truck for about 5 minutes. When I went to merge back onto the freeway, same issue with not shifting into OD once up to speed and thus I took the next exit and restarted the truck. Went another 30 miles or so and reached my second to last destination of the evening with no issue.

Will be plugging in the scanguage for the last 50 miles of the trip... but any ideas what might be going on? Could this be one of the pressure switches I've been reading about on here?

I hope it's a an easy fix for you and not a fork in the road moment. You have a very well maintained RL and should not have to deal with this outside warranty.

It still remains to be seen if this is an actual mechanical issue. It seems like you drove a lot of miles between incidents. Still, with all the maintenance that you do per the MM (and even more with the DW-1) I would have expected your trouble free timeline to be a lot longer. Hope you warranty saves you the cost of a new trans if it comes to that.
@silkiechicken, do you know what the limited lifetime warranty states? Is it one of those that marries you to the dealership for any maintenance service so it gives them an out? You did spend big bucks there for the TB and are super credible and thorough. We all know that trans got a lot of love. Hopefully all this will help you. If you can deal with the new hood on the 23's maybe you can get one for the advertised price without the add ons. So many possibilities here, may not even be the trans itself. Hope you get a quick decision and resolution.
Get if fixed and gradually retire it from commuting duty for homestead duty. Get something for commuting that gets better MPG's is capable of being serviced by you and Silkie and won't cost you big bucks to maintain over 300k. Plenty of choices out there where you and Silkie could change brakes and DIY fluid changes and hopefully go 300k. Some sort of naturally aspirated 4 banger with a timing chain. I don't think Silkie is a fan of the new hoods that limit view so that rules out the newer RL's.

Because yours isn't a warranty job they don't have to get the reman from Honda's source. They are free to get from any number of remanufacturers. A brief look at several leads me to Jasper which has a 100,000mi and 3 year warranty on their remans. They have been known around here to be the Premium supplier for Engine remans in the past. But their warranty states the obvious. They stand behind the reman job. You should ask where they are getting it from. And ask for the address they return it to. That'll tell you a lot of where it came from and who is rebuilding yours.
The part number was a Honda reman part number.

Car Care Nut had a video yesterday of the removal and install of a torque converter on a 2012 Camry. Judder was a problem for Toyota back then Apparently, in their quest for mpg's the torque converter lockup engaged as low as 20mph. The issue that was for the most part solved by a software update that made engagement occur later.

Can this engagement data be captured with the scan gauge? Maybe reflective of torque converter clutch engagement in the RL. If so, a comparison to a OE 6 speed a remanufactured 6 speed and the 9 speed of the data points. May give a clue to the curious folks to see if Honda made some changes.

Just in time for some more hay for the animals!

What I found interesting with the transmission saga and the timing belt replacement is that after all of your research, the dealer was used in both cases. Hopefully routine for you from here on until at least 250k when you can part with the RL on your terms.
Has anyone tracked failures of replacements? Probably difficult since that can be broken down to reman and factory replacement.
Warranty replacements and even out of warrant replacements (unless you pay the core charge) will never be opened by customers or dealers.
I was thinking more like those on the forum who got a replacement trans followed by failure and mentioned it here. I don't think there have been any. Silkie will be a good statistic.

If the failures are from a component supplied outside Honda I bet Honda went after the supplier for some warranty assistance. If there was no class action wyfle may have a point.
