Man! I remember the Opel GT. Always loved the body style. It was always a nightmare when one of those beauties would roll into the shop for a stereo install. One of the most convoluted dash designs of all time. Nice to look at but a b!tch to work on.

Opel GT, MGB GT and Triumph GT6 were the most beautiful small GT cruisers of the day.

When the Mercury Merkur came along, the Opel was no longer the biggest PITA dash to take apart. Then, there was the Mazda Cosmo. OY!

And shop manuals? Never even knew they existed.

Back in the '70s, it was the Mercury Capri that shared some market interest with the Opel GT. And don't forget the Karmann Ghia (hard or rag top)! Long time ago....
