I know the 2017 was released in June of 2016, would a common sense person believe the 2018 will be released around June of 2018 ? ............

I wish.....only fishing for info..... getting ready to pull the trigger..
If Honda sticks to the normal stuff, you will not see the 2018 until late this year… October or even November. Also don't expect any significant color changes or even trim or features. For example, the pilot only got two changes from the '16 to the '17. Black leather interior with the White exterior and they got Apple/Google play on certain models. So its safe to say that since we both of those changes, we will have the same for now. Honda is focused on the new Odyssey. Sorry if that is not great news but thats the way they play.

^^^This. Based on what I've seen in the auto press, I would be surprised if the 2018 RL comes out before Nov/Dec, and doubt there will be much new on it. The 2017 Pilot gets a fingerprint-resistant display which should find its way over to the RL for 2018, possibly with a new exterior color offering. There's reason to hope that Honda will upgrade more RL trims with those highly-rated LED headlights and increase the availability of the Honda Sensing safety suite, but major shuffling of other trim features seems unlikely (bummer).

Rolling out those all-new Odysseys at the Lincoln plant is obviously Honda's focus for 2017, but they are also anxious to address production delays with the Pilot. Aside from improving quality control, I don't see how the RL will get much attention this year.

BTW, at the 2018 Odyssey debut last month, Honda made a point of mentioning that all their light trucks, including the RL, are slated for hybrid power plants in the years ahead. Mid-model refresh for the 2020 Ridgeline, anyone??

Interesting, just read an article that Honda is going to be positioning themselves as a leader in the Hybrid Market, as evidenced by the new Acura NSX & the 2017 Honda Accord Hybrid, which is finally a true Atkinson cycle hybrid powertrain.

2020, MMR could introduce Hybrid & 10 speed

Interesting

When I was shopping, dealers all said likely released end of this year and will hit lots by early 2018. Higher trims likely will be actually sold spring.

Who knows I suppose.

Hope they improve build quality because my RTLE seems quickly thrown together by people with little attention to detail. I had take some plastic trim off and snap it correctly correctly...made me scratch my head how stupid someone had to be to not do it right or they flat out had their mind on tortilla chips, salsa, and corona with lime instead. Plenty of weather stripping/foam not alligned correctly and folded onto itself. Maybe I'm perfectist, but come on Honda...

If I like the truck, I might trade it in for another same one in 2-3 years that's hopefully better put together.

you are not the only one, I turn down two RTL-e from two different dealer because of paint, doors don't line up etc. and the worse part is that the dealer blame it on me. telling me that i wasted their time after i drove 3 hrs to see them.
Build Quality out of HMA is poor, and is evidenced by issues with everything from that plant more recently. I believe it is the culture there since the plant had both the Pilot and Ridgeline moved there under "ITO's" Watch, too focused on numbers and quality took a back seat.

Honda CEO Ito to step down after quality lapses

Any rumors out there? Are we still expecting a late year release of the 2018?

The 2018 is essentially a carryover so there is no reason to think they will start appearing on dealer lots any sooner than the other 2018 Hondas.

My wife has a 2013 RTL (Alabama) and we had a 2007 RTS (Canadian) before that. Both have had more rattles than a Honda should have. My Japanese built '79 Accord was rattle proof. Even my 2015 RAM 1500 is silent in comparison. Come on Honda!

You need to take a ride in my 08 RTL down a rough gravel road. I don't hear as well as I did 50 years ago but my wife still remarks about how quiet my RTL is at 240,000 miles. We both miss the "new car smell" but that's it for this Canadian made RTL.

From past experience, it seems like the Ridgeline is always released late, a June release date would be extreme in my opinion. I would guess by February of 2018 that 18 models would be available at the dealerships.
Re: 2018 Release date

My sense is that while Honda made some changes to the Pilot for year two, I don't expect there to be any on the RL.
It seems better sorted from the getgo.
The main thing would be the infotainment touch screen. They'll almost certainly adopt a knob controller ala CRV. I could see them redesign the grille but I bet it wouldn't look much different.
Everything Ody for next 6 months, don't look for the RL anytime soon.

My sources claim the 18 will follow the 17 Fit's release schedule. Middle to late December with very limited initial rollout until mid January 18.
