Hi everyone. I recently came across some 255/65r18 Michelin latitude x-ice xi2 winter tires on FB marketplace. I decided to roll the dice and they fit! I did have to remove my front husky mudflaps though. They have a ridge around the inside perimeter of the guard that was catching the tires at about 3/4 turn. They might work with some trimming.

In any case, I noticed that there is some debate on here about whether or not 255/65r18 tires fit and in this case, they do. These tires have a tread depth of 11/32, so if you decide to go with this size I'd choose a direct with a similar depth. I hope this info is useful for someone down the road.

There you go. The truck does not appear or feel much higher, but the tires definitely look bigger in the wheel wells
Thanks for posting this up. I had started a thread regarding these size tires (255/65/18) for our RL's and not many folks have tried this size. Most went with 265/60/18's but I want the extra height and not too much more width as we have a huge gap in our wheel wells. I am now ready for new tires and will go with this size based on your experience. Does the ride feel any different?

** Just ordered my P255/65R/18 Firestone Destination LE3's from Tire Rack - hope to have them Monday and installed by mid week. **

No problem. I did notice some minute differences in steering and ride. Im used to changing tires around on my jeep so I probably pick up on it more than others. The biggest difference is that the ride is slightly rougher. That's probably due to the larger tire size using the stock tire pressure. Bigger tires need less pressure to hold the same weight as a smaller tire. I may try to test how low the psi can go before the dash alert beeps at me and see if it changes the ride feel at all. Even a couple psi can make a big difference.

Only on the edge of the mudflap. That's why I removed it.
That was an aftermarket front mudflap, right?
I ask as I have the factory mudflaps up front and they do not appear as they would interfere with the new 255/65's. (pic below is with the factory tires)

I'm not sure if they're work. The weathertec mudflap interferes with the tire because the piece that attaches to the wheel well has a small rim that juts out into the wheel space and causes rubbing. I may try trimming it and putting the flaps back on because the tires do kick up a lot of crap onto the sides of the truck.

I have noticed a slight rub when backing up and turning right at full lock. Not enough to worry about with the snow tires, but I don't think off road tires will fit in that size.
