265/60/18 Goodyear Duratracs

I just got these 265/60/R18 Goodyear Wrangler Duratracs installed on an otherwise stock 2012 Ridgeline Sport. :act035: Very happy with the looks. I ground down some of the plastic on the mud flap but still have a little bit of rubbing in parking lots. I might remove the mud flaps completely soon to see if that takes care of the problem.

Mine rubbed a bit at 3/4 turn at just one spot. I sanded them down a bit then just got used to it. After 30k it went away as the tires wore a tiny bit. Took the flaps off and didn't like the look and put them back on.
Thanks for the input. I would be fine with the looks with the mud flaps removed but I couldn't figure out how to remove the metal piece hanging down on the driver side. I removed 2 bolts but couldn't figure out if there were any more or if I just needed to take a hammer to it. One day I'm sure I will get bored and take another pass at it.
Open the drivers door, look low there is a bolt there you missed.

It's in a post somewhere in here recently.
Those tires look really sweet! Gives the Ridge a much tougher look to it! I have a 12 Black Sport also love it!
@45Stang Thanks amigo.
@Carsmack You were correct. ;)
@Ramp No Lift installed.

Update:
I ended up figuring out how to remove the metal piece and so I also removed the mud flaps. After bending the pinch welds back (the ones in the wheel well) and some additional fender liner trimming I appear to have gotten rid of all the rubbing. I'm sure if I hit bumps hard enough at 3/4 turn I will hear something but I'm not too worried about that.
Mikey T-

I like the look of these and also have a 2012 Sport (mine is White though).

This confirms the Ultimate Tire Fitment Chart thread { http://www.ridgelineownersclub.com/forums/showthread.php?t=33758 }, that says you can run 265/60/R18 without a lift. Sounds like you had to make minor modifications, but it does work.

When my tires need to be replaced, currently at 44,000 on original tires, I'm probably going to probably go the same size as what you went with, as screwing around with a lift kit sounds less and less appealing.

Thanks man. Long story short, looks good :)
Sting, it's been said lots of times, but I'll just point it out again: on the Ridgeline, the limiting factor is the length of the wheel wells, front to back, not the height. Unlike other trucks, on the Ridgeline the lift kit is of no help whatsoever in letting you install larger tires.

Thanks Dude. Kind of a PIA to make them work but I think it was worth it. One tip I will suggest is to take the wheel off when you start working with the fender liners etc. This would have saved me a TON of time. I started working on it with the wheels turned all the way but it is soooo much easier and faster once the tires are not in your way.

Flymo- Your statement is false. While I do agree that the wheel wells are the main hindrance on the Ridgeline (Honda should've used actual truck wheel wheels), the lift kit IS of help when you want to install larger tires.

I guarantee that you can't run 31 inch or 32 inch tires WITHOUT a lift, see below as a reference to the same thread as before, The Ultimate Tire Fitment Chart, that details what tires you can/can't run with/without a lift:

{ http://www.ridgelineownersclub.com/forums/showthread.php?t=33758 }

I GUARANTEE these guys couldn't run their tires WITHOUT a lift:

{ http://www.ridgelineownersclub.com/forums/showthread.php?t=82329 } Willoughby10 running 275/65/18 which are 32" tires

{ http://www.ridgelineownersclub.com/forums/showthread.php?t=33758&page=17 } typeRT running 265/65/18 which are 31.6" tires

{ http://www.ridgelineownersclub.com/forums/showthread.php?t=33758&page=5 } enilegdir1985 running 265/65/18 tires as well

My whole point was that for those that aren't wanting to put a lift on, MikeyT's is probably the largest tire 265/60/18 (30.5" tires) you can go, AND it does look good. :)
