A Proud RTL owner from Guatemala

Greetings good people of the forum, I joined because I found a lot of information here and from owners which make it even better, and helped me a lot in my decision of buying one. Since I started researching for a pickup truck most of my information came from this forum anyways.

I purchased a RTL here in Guatemala, its the only trim we get and its a wierd hybrid of a RTL and RTL-E (its an RTL with lane watch assist with the camera on the passanger mirror, powered slide rear window and comes with a sunroof) and I have owned it since December 8th 2016, I currently just used it for weekends and long trips so it only has about 2400 miles.

I expect to keep getting information from you guys and also adding a bit of my own when I have something to share with you guys.

So far the water intrusion on the rear harness hasn't happen to me and bear in mind here in my country it rains constantly, the only bad thing I can report its a weird bug on the transmition selector that for some reason you have to push it all the way to the front to select Parking (like a little harder than with any other automatic transmition I have owned), and the weird thing is that when you do it with out extra force, the main dashboard will tell you that parking is engaged on the transmition (and you can feel its engaged also), but when you turn off the ridgeline it will shutdown but beep that you are still in accesory mode. Its a minor issue but for a $40k+ vehicle you would expect that something like this shouldn't happen.

Anyways I hope to be of help just as you guys were to me when I researched for a pickup truck that adjusted to my life style.

Regards

Nice looking pair you got there. You can check your wiring harness date by pulling the left rear tail light and checking the label in there. If it is later than August 8, 2016 you should be free and clear of the harness issue.

As for the transmission selector, sounds like you have an issue there. If the ignition is going into accessory, it mean the truck is not in Park. Sounds like you need to have the dealer adjust the ?? (I want to say linkage, but I don't think there is any linkage there). Switch I guess.

Congrats on Your New G2 RL.

Welcome to the ROC.

Good Luck and Enjoy the Ride!

So Question, since you have a Sunroof do you also have a power sliding rear window?

Also is the Sunroof, open to the roof glass, or does it have a cover in the same material as the headliner?

Yes I'll do that by the time I get it to the shop for the first schedule service (should be in around june), and I'll post an update if anything relevant come up

Yes I do have a power rear window, as for the sunroof glass from the inside it has a cover that opens automatically when you open the sunroof all the way, cause it has a tilt option if you want, but you have to manually close after closing the sunroof. And yes the material is the same as the headliner

What is the camera on the passenger side mirror used for? Is it a park assist? That is a nice feature that is missing everywhere else.
The camera is used for lane changes, rather than parking. One feature that does come in handy for parking is the auto tilt-down outside mirror. Just set the outside mirror control on whichever side you want to see the curb & it will tilt automatically when you go into Reverse.
The lane change warning is a sensor rather than a camera. Those sensors are in the rear bumper. There is a camera for LKA to determine the boundaries of your lane, but that is in the windshield near the rear-view mirror. No electronics in the mirrors of the US vehicles. Inside there are motors for mirror adjustment, but nothing visible externally.
The camera on the right side rear view mirror is part of "Lane Watch Blind Spot Display", available only on the RTL-T in the US and on the Sport and EX-L in Canada.
Does it show the image on the Infotainment display? If so, sounds like a nice feature.
Yes, it's part of the 5" system, not the 8". I thought it was kind of neat too as it was in one of the trucks I test drove. But I quickly realize one never looks down at their radio when changing lanes. The warning light by the mirror is much more intuitive and where a person looks.

In the US it's on the "T" which has the 8" screen. The "E" doesn't have it since it gets the blind spot monitor....not sure why they have to make so many variants.
I use it everyday, quicker to glance to the center than to the side mirror.

<face/palm> By golly you're right. The 5" isn't even available in Canada. All trims have the 8" display. So it's available on the trims noted, with 8" display.
