new to the RL. Anyone move or add an AUX input to the center console?

im thinking about a cubby cover so i could possibly just get a long male to male 3.5 cable and plug it in the stock input in the cubby and snake it down behind the dash and under the carpet to the console.

How does the stock input trim piece in the cubby come off?

Looking at the part numbers, the trim piece isn't available separately - you need to replace the entire cubby -- which isn't that expensive ~$15. I never had mine out - so I can't advise on the process of replacing it.

I've never been in an RT, but I guess there is no hole/blank where the Aux Input is in other models. Someone on the ROC found the green connector plug behind the RL Aux Input on a Scosche HAAXB harness. I tried to get a part number for that green connector so I could find it's mate and make a splitter harness to put a second Aux Input in the center console. Honda said try Radio Shack. Radio Shack said they are no longer in the auto parts business. So the project has come to a halt. If anyone has a source for connector parts please share.

how hard was it to snake it down to the console? have to pull the carpet up?

mine doesnt go to the center console but it's easy. I just drilled a hole under the rubber thing to run the wire through, drop your glovebox like changing the filter and you should be able to run it down and over to behind where your 12 v sockets are easily without taking anything apart. From there your on your own b/c I dont know excatly where in the center console you want this wire to come our. Are you wanting it to be like a flush mounted aux jack like the existing one?

If you just want that female end laying in the bottom of the console, and your lazy like me, I'd just tuck that wire under along the floor towards the back of the console, slide the pass seat forward and drill a hole into it for the wire to come out and go into near the floor where it wont be seen with the seat back in a normal position. I did that to my wifes car, probably wouldnt on my Ridge though.
