Was surfing the web today and ran across this:

Hitchgate? Solo - WilcoOffroad.comWilcoOffroad.com

Looks like it might work for some of you guys worried about losing bed space with a full-size spare. Kinda priceyes around $600. Won't lose tailgate functionality or towing.

Maybe there is something similar out there that is a little cheaper

There are plenty of aftermarket:wink: hitch-mount tire carriers, but you have to pull them out to use the tailgate.

Looks like a stout product. Covers most license plates though, some states get butt-hurt about that.

I think they offer license plate relocation kits with it. They also have a heavier-duty one, but I think it's overkill for the Ridgeline.
Looks like it would block the backup camera also

Yeah, that could be an issue if you need the camera.

In the future features thread, I mentioned wanting a front-mounted receiver hitch. I'd imagine a spare tire on the front of a G2 RL would "man it up" some.. :p
