has anybody purchased the wireless android connector from aawireless from indiegogo yet? I use a wireless charger that sits in my cupholder plugged into the rear usb connector and every time I drop my phone in it I have to connect to the smart usb connector under head unit for android auto. This device started shipping last week so I was wondering if a 2g owner has 1 yet?

I'm anxiously waiting for my AAWireless unit to arrive. I will probably also add a wireless charging pad, plugged into a 3-amp USB charger plugged into the 12v socket--since the AAWireless will use the front USB. Apparently the DisplayAudio screen does not offer the resolution that AA expects for the splitscreen function, but the AAWireless phone app is said to include a "DPI adjuster"--making the phone believe it is connected to a higher resolution panel. (Touch points may become too small though.) Stay tuned...

Android Auto has been around for several years at this point and continues to evolve and improve with updates. However, most people are stuck with the wired version of the platform, missing the convenience of wireless. Good news, though — the clever AAWireless dongle is starting to ship this week.

To quickly recap this product to those who haven’t heard of it: AAWireless was a crowdfunded project launched in 2020 which promised to convert a standard, wired Android Auto head unit into a wireless one with just a USB dongle. We tested out a working prototype of the device (that looked nowhere near as nice as the final product pictured below) in December and came away pretty impressed at how well everything worked.
Fast forward to March 2021, and AAWireless is finally set to start shipping to customers who backed the project on Indiegogo. If you backed the product with a December 2020 estimate, you can expect your order to arrive as soon as the next week or two.
Why the delay? A couple of hiccups during development, and more recently, Chinese New Year delayed shipping. Specifically, a WiFi signal problem didn’t meet the product’s needs and miscommunication with the factory pushed things back considerably. The worldwide chip shortage has also left a backlog on Indiegogo orders that the developers tell us should be met by, hopefully, sometime in April. After that, direct sales of AAWireless will be available from the company’s website for anyone who missed out on the Indiegogo campaign.

This time running $75 (10 bucks more than the last one).
They had to change the CPU because they couldn't get the original with the chip shortage going on right now.

"The raw components' material price also went up by almost 50%. We won't pass this on to the current backers, but we won't be able to keep the same price for new pledges either. All this being said, we are pretty positive about the supplies and lead times we managed to secure in current times."

I just put my order in.

For those wanting to install an OEM wireless charger, there's some good info here; Adding Pilot wireless charger to 2017-2020 RL - updated

They are starting to arrive. Have seen posts about people with 2019 honda crv having no problem. Here is 1.Just got the device delivered today. Took a minute to setup in Honda CRV 2019. Wifi connection worked flawlessly, did not need to use Bluetooth connection. My Bluetooth port is a little lose which does cause it to disconnect randomly but I won’t blame that on device. Only if it did not require the device to connect to android auto specific USB port :)

I got mine today. I have a 2018 Honda Pilot. I had previously downloaded the app to my phone. Set up took 2 minutes after plugging the AA wireless box in. Everything works great.. I could not be happier with this project.
