I've been thinking about sliding a CB in here somewhere but it's not going to be easy to keep it looking good. Anyone else thinking about this and if so what are you considering doing?

So far I would like to keep it hidden in the console but console is pretty shallow, all my radios don't fit in and let you close the lid.

As far as antenna I am thinking of putting a bracket mounted under the plastic rail cover on the back of the bed so the tonneau cover is still able to close. Getting the coax back to the cab will be tough. I may farm this one out to professionals.

If it were my brand new G2 RL, I'd DIY, no one will take more care of your RL than you. There are most likely plenty of grommets between the bed rear wall & upper seat back. The seat looks real similar to the to the G1. Your already a trend setter towing so many miles with your new truck, taking it apart will allow others to know what's there.

Good Luck either way...

I was thinking about if it is even possible to mount a CB out of the way! I don't have a truck yet but I do Certified oversize load escorts and was wondering about installing a CB and my light system. I might give up the escorts if it will blemish my baby!
Either way, a CB is nice on a road trip.

I didn't think many people were still using CBs, at least not like in the old days.

Agreed. Seems pretty obsolete with the prevalence of cell phones. However, I seem to recall there being CBs that had a hidden chassis and all of the controls on the microphone. That might be a little better looking than a "standard" CB.

I pulled out my single sideband CB a while back and it was very noisy. I don't think the years were good to it.
