Yes, but they'll just say that the profit is going back to Japan instead of to the US. Can't argue with ignorance, I guess. Of course, you could always ask what profit (for the US cars).

My sticker states:

U.S./Canadian Parts Content: 75%
Major Sources of Foreign Parts Content: JAPAN 10%
. . .
Country of Origin: Engine: U.S.A.
Transmission: JAPAN

I guess Canada isn't considered foreign?

I think the article stated that the US and Canada are 'lumped together' as North America when it comes to calculating the origin of parts.
