Anybody have any success with aftermarket hitch lights or other lights to brighten up reverse?
New tail light bulbs haven't solved the issue.
If not using the camera it's hard to see out the rear/side view mirrors when going in reverse.

  • Maybe it's just old age....

I put LEDs in everywhere I could when I bought my '08 RTX in 2014, and have never regretted it--every one of them is so much brighter than the incandescent bulbs (including the backup lights).

I added a rigid D2 with a diffused lense, that I found at work (bnib). To mount I welded a small tab on the hitch, and wired to the factory 7 flat. It's really bright, and there's no mistaking my truck is reversing in a parking lot.

My garage lights are insanely bright (3 LED fixtures putting out over 50,000 lumens) so it may not look all that bright in the pics, but it is.

Just curious, are 50K lumens reverse lights even legal?
