Base Radio Issue with Wallpaper

I was messing with the wallpaper options for the base radio just to see what they looked like. The only one stored from Honda is the clock, so I select it but it never shows a clock, just a black screen with the time displayed in the upper right corner. No biggie I'll just change it back to displaying the audio information except that I can't unselect the wallpaper now. I wanted to go back to just the audio information on the screen. I've selected audio under the change display in the settings, but it still shows the blank screen with the time in the upper corner. So my question is how do I get the audio information to display on the screen again??? What am I missing? I've read the manual and have been messing with the radio for probably 20 mins and can't figure it out. Help a brother out.

Thanks.

I have a different model so I'm not sure if you have this available, but can you reset the settings back to default?

I didn't see an option to reset. I'm looking through the manual right now to see if there's a reset option.

Ok. After pushing all the buttons on the radio I figured it out. I had to press the day/night button (top left). This toggles between day mode then night mode then blank screen mode. It even displayed the clock wallpaper when I set it again. Geez Honda!

Edit: found at the bottom of page 204 of the PDF manual that it talks about the different modes (day, night, & off). I wonder if pushing this button "refreshed" the radio somehow to now be able to display the wallpaper.

Thank you for this information, it saved me today! My daughter was pushing buttons while I was driving and when she got out of the truck it was showing only the clock in the upper right corner. I was ready to pull my hair out trying to get it back the way I had it initially.

Hello, I just bought a 2019 Ridgeline and it appears all three factory wallpapers have been deleted. I wand wallpaper, so I uploaded an image. I can select the image, but it doesn't display. Am I missing something? Were you able to get your wallpaper to display?
Unstable software with 5" screen Ridgeline audio system on Wallpaper causing no clock situation.
I noticed about a week ago that I no longer had a clock on my '17 RTL, 45K miles. There was only a blue stripe at the top where the clock had been, The heat has been relentless which may have something to do with this apparent software glitch. The manual was very incomplete on this subject. I looked at several entries on this great site, and google pointed out that the same radio head is often on Civics too. Found a couple of YouTubes on setting up an imported picture for wall paper- which I had done two years ago and was working fine until recently. Nothing addressed my issue though. I finally gave up on the internet and started experimenting. I happened to notice that if you went to "AUDIO" mode the clock was displayed at the top, both when the radio was on or off. I looked at the Audio side at length as it looked that was the way I was going to have to go, Not that bad an option really as it did give you the name of the songs, the artist, and station although no pictures of the album or the artist.

I figured what the hell, why not give the wall paper side one more try so I can enjoy pics of my granddaughters while driving the truck. BINGO it worked! Just by giving that software a tweak it started to work again- perfectly with home pics as the wallpaper. Hope this helps some of you in the Ridgeline community!

Just to clarify: The clock showed up again, with the radio on OR off. The blue stripe was gone, apparently it had blocked that info before. Bluemill
