Bed Safety Sticker

Anybody know if the yellow sticker in the bed is removeable? Or will it just leave a mess if I try to take it off? Thanks!

If it's anything like the G1, it'll eventually fade then peel off completely leaving an impossible-to-remove residue. I vaguely remember peeling that sticker off in one of my three G1. It seems like it didn't leave any residue when I removed it while it was still new. I'm leaving the one on my G2 in place. If/when it fades or comes off, I'll replace it - they're only a few dollars or less. Some manufacturers will send replacement safety labels at no charge (lawn mowers come to mind).
Don't you just hate the labels all over every damn thing these days! I think extension cords have about 20 or something! :frown:

Mostly I have found that either regular mineral spirits or a gently applied heat gun work best but it depends both on the adhesive and the material to which it is applied. I will probably just leave mine in place.

I wonder if it would be better to try to remove it before this happens? I would think baking the adhesive in the sun for an extended period of time would be a contributor to it becoming impossible to remove.
I removed mine with no problems. Just used a little Goo Gone to get rid of the little residue left over.

Thanks to all for the quick responses! The sticker came right off this morning & left almost no residue behind at all. And yes CCD I completely agree with you on the Govt-mandated stickers. Now about those idiotic labels on the sun visors..........

In a surprise move, my mom removed the labels on the sun visors in her Traverse. The side effect was a dark area of sticky residue and stretched/wrinkled fabric.

You can use a heat gun, hair dryer, or steamer to loosen the label followed by alcohol, adhesive remover, and upholstery cleaner. There's a good chance something will go wrong and it'll look worse after the label is removed.

Some labels are adhesive while others are "ironed on" - the latter of which is more common these days. Removing it will almost certainly damage the sun visor.

I meant to say that mine must have come off in the carwash.....

All the warning sticker in the cars are because of lawyers which:

Reminds me of the old joke on the Orient Express Train

Two Americans, a Frenchman and a Cuban are on the train to Istanbul.

The Frenchman opens his briefcase, take out a bottle of wine, opens it, takes a drink and throws the still full bottle out the window, says to his three guest, we have so much wine in France we are only allowed to take on sip from each bottle.

The Cuban opens his briefcase and takes out a cigar, lights it and takes one puff then throws it out the window - we have so many cigars in Cuba that we are only allowed to take one puff from each one.

The American turns to the other American and ask him, "do you think I should sue At&t for the mistake they made on my bill", the Lawyer says yes, and the American grabs him and tosses him out the window, - he says to the two guests, we have so many Lawyers in America that we are only allowed to ask them for one piece of advice.

Mine peeled off easily this morning and left almost no residue behind. I cleaned the little that remained with goo gone.
I'm leaving the one on my G2 in place.
I changed my mind since earlier this morning. After 24 days since it was applied at the factory, it just now came off perfectly clean with zero residue.
I removed the label and behind it was a bunch of scratches. Now I need a new sticker to cover up the scratches.....skull and cross bones would do as a good warning replacement.

Mine didn't have any scratches - just smooth, black plastic. Did you have to scrape yours off?

No scraping. Just peeled off and a little goo gone.
Is someone on this thread trying to advertise for goo gone ! For something that hasn't even been proven to be a problem !! :frown:

(if you have no idea what I am referring to, consider yourself lucky to have missed it)
Mine must have been sent back to Honda legal, it seems to be missing. Who fills gas cans in the bed anyway? Good way to make a mess when they overflow and here in Oregon I can't fill my own anyway. Let the spill happen on the concrete! BTW, although it would not help with static bed issues, most experts recommend a good metal safety can and not plastic gas cans

Actually, Goo Gone can be a bit strong for some plastics - I have had it mess up the surface on some items. Plain old mineral spirits works best on plastics and acetone on metal, IMHO....
