best place to mount brake controller?

I mounted my brake controller down low, about where my right knee points.

I attached a video elsewhere on this forum. I did not show where the brake controller was because I wanted to review with the folks that sold me the utility trailer. I wound up placing under the steering column--screwed into the plastic cover. If off to the side, left or right, the controller is right at the knees. In the event of an accident I did not want the knees being impacted. The setup seemed to have worked out well with my limited experience.
